Into Uncharted Waters
The sun is shining. The sweat glistens on the back of the men
The sun is shining. Chickens being put in their pens.
The wind is favourite. hurry!Shouts a voice, or we miss the tide!
The wind is favourite. Damned goat! A tired voice cried.
There we have it! The work is done!
A few quick goodbyes and the boat is all but gone.
The men bustle on the deck. Into the masts! And put those swords in a rack!
The men bustle on the deck. No lazing, landlubbers! And swabbie that deck!
Down below, an argument evolves in the captains hut,
All doors are being barred and the windows are kept shut.
Shouting men surrounded by kegs of rum.
Its an argument of many, and many more to come.
At the back of the group stands a man alone, staring trough the port.
His suit and boots are the best a Captain can afford.
On his belt a cutlass glistens , on its heft a skull
He barely listens to the conversations, he finds it very dull.
Be quiet. He says in a low, rumbling voice.
I cant hear myself think above all this noise.
He turns around sharply and kicks open the barred door.
As he disappears from view, the argument commences once more.
Stupid officers.. The captain thinks. arguing and not worth a damn in battle!
Give them a sword and they couldnt even beat the cattle!
He walks up to the helm, adjusting his hat.
Quiet down! He bellows to the crew. There are things that need to be said.
This will be no fun journey. If we get this wrong we shall all end up dead.
The crew look up at the strong, scared face.
With him at the helm, There wouldnt be a danger they wont face.
Men, we have seen far and wide, good and bad
We even conquered the great Vargas the Mad
YEAH!Comes a cheer from the crowd.
Where we going next Capn? Make us proud!
Glad you asked Mboy he replied. For I planned a voyage, the most fearsome yet
it will make you scream and bellow and worry and fret!
The rewards will be great, richness beyond your wildest dreams
Im just having trouble trying to fit it in between the screams..
As the crew laughs, the captain turns to the sea
He sniffs deeply: Aaaah, this is what life is. This is what it is to BE.
A smile plays on a his lips, as his eyes start to glow.
He turns around suddenly and deals the helm a sharp blow.
The crew yelps in fright as the ship lurches to the right.
HAHAHA! We be ready to go!!
FASTEN THOSE RIGS, TAR THE COILS AND TIDY THE MAST!
lOOK LIVELY MEN AND STAND VAST!
WE SHALL GIVE NO QUARTERS!
FOLLOW ME INTO UNCHARTED WATERS!

Upon asking why humans facinate him so much, Death answered:
"IN A UNIVERSE FULL OF WONDERS, SPINNING ATOMS, REALITY AND MAGIC, THEY MANAGED TO INVENT BOREDOM"
